Meet Heather

Expereinced teacher & SEND support adviser

With over 20 years of experience in primary education, I’ve spent my career supporting children and families through the challenges that can come with SEND. But my understanding also comes from personal experience as a parent of neurodivergent children myself.

I know how overwhelming it can feel trying to navigate schools, meetings, diagnoses and the emotional ups and downs that affect the whole family. Bright Path SEND was created to offer calm, compassionate and practical support that helps children feel understood and families feel less alone. My approach is relationship-led, flexible and built around the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, supported and able to thrive in their own way.

Supporting Families Across Dorset & the UK

Based in Poole, Dorset, supporting families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

Branksome Beach in Poole, Dorset, near the local area where Bright Path SEND supports families and children.

I am based in Poole, Dorset, and support families face-to-face across the surrounding areas. I am also fortunate to work online, allowing me to support families throughout the UK.

Over the years, I have built strong links with trusted local professionals and specialist services, enabling me to signpost families to the most appropriate support for their child’s needs. This means I can help families access reputable assessments, therapeutic services, and educational support across Dorset as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Working with Children Experiencing Learning, Emotional and Sensory Challenges

I support families whose children are experiencing difficulties within mainstream primary education due to diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND needs.  Drawing on my background in teaching I help families navigate challenges including EBSA, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, anxiety, sensory overwhelm, and low confidence.

If you are unsure what may be underlying your child’s difficulties, we can explore this together in a supportive and non-judgemental way.
